Why does Kwikset lock not working after battery replacement
Here are the reasons I’ve explained
Using wrong Battery type
If the lock is designed to use alkaline batteries but you are using rechargeable, this can lead to drainage.
Lock malfunction:
If the lock is malfunctioning, it may cause battery drainage. A malfunctioning lock may be unable to shut off completely, leading to a constant draw of power from the batteries.
One of the most common causes of Kwikset lock malfunction is incorrect battery polarity.
It is crucial to make sure that the batteries are installed correctly, with the positive and negative terminals aligned properly.
This is typically indicated inside the battery compartment.
Overuse:
If the lock is being used frequently, it may cause the batteries to drain faster than usual. This is because the lock’s motor requires a certain amount of power to function, and frequent use can drain the batteries quickly.
Extreme temperatures:
Extreme temperatures can also affect battery life. If the lock is exposed to extreme heat or cold, it can cause the battery to lose its charge faster than normal.
Radio frequency interference:
Radio frequency interference from nearby devices can interfere with the lock’s connectivity, causing it to use more power to stay connected and leading to battery drainage.
Invalid Access Limit has exceeded: The invalid access limit error message will pop up when trying to unlock your door using your smart lock. This error message can be frustrating and may leave you locked out of your own home. However, there are solutions to this problem
