You can reset your Premis Lock by using three different methods. These are:
- Network reset
- Factory reset
- System reset
Here you will get all information about the three resetting methods. You will know how you can perform this resetting process.
Factory reset on Premis Lock
Here we will learn the process of kwikset smart lock reset for Premis.
But before that, here we will know what the factory reset changed to our Premis Lock.
- Remove the Premis lock from the Premis App and HomeKit system.
- Remove any added user codes and schedule from the inside of the Premis App.
- Delete all programmed user codes from your Premis Lock.
- If the status LED was turned off, the system reset turns on.
- Re-enable the disabled SecureScreen from the inside of the Premises App.
- Disable the Auto-lock feature.
- Unmute the muted sound from the Premis App.
- Start the door-handing process.
How to perform the factory reset?
Follow the below instructions to perform a factory reset on the Premis lock:
- Remove the interior cover from the Premis Lock.
- Take out the battery pack.
- Keep pressing and holding the program button for 30 seconds while reinstalling the battery pack in the Premis Lock.
- While the battery pack is inserted, give up the button. You will notice the red and green LED status.
- Now push the Program button once again.
- After a few moments, you will notice the Premis Lock will start the door-handing process, and the Kwikset door latch won’t retract and extend to observe the door’s orientation.
- Now insert the interior cover again.
Network reset on Kwikset Premis Lock
A network reset will delete the Premis Lock from the Premis App and HomeKit system.
Yet, after performing the network reset on your Premis lock, you will get back all user codes, settings, and schedules.
The network reset doesn’t remove any settings from your Premis Lock. So, when you pair your Kwikset Lock again with the Premis App, you can rediscover them through this App.
Perform the network reset From the Premis App
You can perform the network reset from your Premis App. To do this,
You need to follow the instructions you will get from the Premis App. Perform these instructions and delete your Premis Lock from the Premis App.
Perform the network reset from the Premis lock:
You can also perform the network reset from your Lock. Below are the instructions:
- Remove the interior cover from the Premis Lock.
- Press and hold the A button only for 7 seconds.
- Keep holding until you hear one beep.
- Now, re-insert the cover.

System reset on Premis Lock
Before starting the system reset process on Premis Lock, let’s know what will the system reset change to our Premis Lock.
A system reset will do the bellowings:
- Remove the Premis lock from the Premis App and HomeKit system.
- Remove any added user codes and schedule from the inside of the Premis App.
- Delete all programmed user codes from your Premis Lock.
- The system reset will turn on the status LED if it was turned off.
- Re-enable the disabled SecureScreen from the inside of the Premiss App.
- Disable the Auto-lock feature.
- Unmute the mutted sound from the Premis App.
Now it’s time to know how to perform a system reset on Premis Lock. Let’s see the resetting process.
System reset:
- Pull the interior cover out from the Premis Lock.
- Press and hold the A button from the back panel only for 20 seconds.
- You will notice the Premis lock will beep after seven(7) seconds.
- Keep holding the button until the Kwikset Lock delivers a second beep.
- After completing the process, insert the cover again.
